A downloadable game for Windows

You didn't think it was going to be an issue, sending your wife and daughter ahead of you. However, not long after you sent them off, certain jump gates ceased to respond. You may be able to get back to your family, but it requires a certain amount of influence. Influence you don't have. Influence you have to earn.

Made for the McBacon Jam #1 with the assistance of Jeoren_Sol, Ebeth, and Glasses, with the themes of deprivation and/or abundance in mind. This game involves a pick-up-and-deliver mechanic as well as a mission structure that moves the story forward. Sadly, the official event submission of this game will probably not have combat, but, combat should be available sometime after the event development period is done.

We highly recommend reviewing the packed-in readme file, as Glasses' movement script makes the controls different than your average RPG Maker game!

Downloaded this from RPGMaker.net while itch.io was down.

Readme says that there was an included map, but I can't find it? Or is it just the map image here on the store page?

Oh, the map's in-game!

Interesting how the Myriad Cypher works! Fun bar chats and rerolling the randomized missions hoping for better rewards!

And can't just do Scouting Missions, since they eventually run out. have to fight at least once! Never have to haul cargo though. Heh. Lv 2 gear apparently comes with Lv 2 enemies? Since I'm basically guaranteed to take damage now?

EDIT: Oh, mission enemies are stronger than randoms!

What do you mean by Scouting Missions running out? They should be among the randomly generated mission types?

Thanks for responding!

After I did like 2 Scouting Missions, it seems they dropped out of rotation until I did a combat mission?

Also, how many credits do I need for Sector 14? 10,000, I guess? I have... what, like 7000 right now? I just gotta grind some more!

That shouldn’t happen. Still, I’ll do some test-runs on my end to see if I can observe this oddity myself.

Unlocking sectors/planets is not a matter of the player’s credit balance. It’s a matter of clearing story missions. I believe the in-game map gives precedence to standard missions in regards to it’s display, though, it’s also true that players don’t “start” with a story mission either. It has to be found among the sectors/planets that are initially available.

This decision of having the player find the game’s story mission arc on their own might be clinging to it’s Wing Commander - Privateer inspiration too closely for it’s own good.

Whoops, I mean. How much money do I need to clear the:
> "probably final" story mission that had a ?Crd requirement as listed on the map screen.

I now have 10342 and the Bar still isn't letting me go on?

I was trying to avoid spoilers. Sorry!

Maybe I just sucked at reading mission descriptions until later on! Replicating it myself and sending you the save shouldn't be too hard, but I've got stuff to do... So... good luck?

As far as the Scouting missions ceasing to be generated are concerned, I ran the game on two separate occasions. The first time, they showed up often enough. The second time, they maybe started showing up again after choosing “Reject”? I’m inclined to believe it’s a weird case of RNG.

On the other note, you can review mission details with the “Recall Current Mission” command, accessible from the Explore->Mission Computer menu on planets.

There isn’t a good spoiler system on this platform, so I dare not speak too much more on this matter. However, if you’re on the mission I think you’re on, there should be a jump-gate in the vicinity of Remata in Nav 14 that you can access.
